Job Description:
Innovation is looking for a Cobol developer who will also have a strong understanding of DB2 and other mainframe technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying COBOL applications that meet the needs of our clients. They
will also be responsible for working with other members of the development team to ensure that our applications are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and deploy COBOL applications on mainframes
Knowledge in tools such as Veryant IDE, Toad DB2, Postgres, VI editor, Datagrip
Work with development team members to ensure that our applications are delivered on time and within budget
Maintain and enhance existing COBOL applications
Troubleshoot and debug COBOL programs
Work proactively with clients to understand their requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs
Stay up-to-date on the latest COBOL and DB2 technologies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
5+ years of experience in developing and maintaining COBOL applications on mainframes, Veryant IDE, Toad DB2, Postgres, VI editor, Datagrip.
Strong understanding of DB2 and other mainframe technologies
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
