About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Engineer with a strong understanding of the US telecom domain, specifically OSS/BSS (Operations Support Systems/Business Support Systems), to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in leveraging data to drive key business decisions and improve operational efficiency within the US telecom sector. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data solutions that address complex business challenges within the OSS/BSS domain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Engineering:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various OSS/BSS systems (e.g., CRM, billing, order management, inventory management) into data warehouses.
- Develop and implement data quality checks and validation procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity within the OSS/BSS domain.
- Build and maintain data models and schemas for optimal data storage and retrieval, specifically tailored to OSS/BSS data.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support data exploration, analysis, and modeling within the OSS/BSS context.
- Automate data processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort within OSS/BSS operations.
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
- Extensive experience with data warehousing concepts and best practices
- Deep understanding of US Telecom OSS/BSS systems and processes (e.g., order management, customer care, billing, provisioning, network operations)
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt, Matillion)
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Knowledge of data modeling techniques (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence applied to OSS/BSS domains (e.g., predictive maintenance, fraud detection, customer churn prediction)
- Experience with data governance and data security best practices within the telecom industry
- Knowledge of telecom-specific data sources and APIs related to OSS/BSS system
